Day 01: Nairobi – Samburu. Depart Nairobi at 07.30am and drive Northwards to Samburu Game Reserve via Mt. Kenya and past Coffee plantations. Lunch is served and game viewing drive en-route to see the rare reticulated Giraffe, Grevy's Zebra, Gerenuk and the Somali Ostrich, all of which are rare in other game parks. Day 02: Samburu. Full day spent in Samburu with early morning and afternoon game drives in Samburu Game Reserve, which covers 40 square miles (104 square kilometers). Samburu is also home to the third of Kenya's giraffe species - the rare Reticulated Giraffe (only found in the Northern parks). This is also where you see the blue-legged Somali Ostrich, the long-necked Gerenuk gazelle and the straight-horned Beisa Oryx antelope. Accommodation at Samburu Sopa Lodge. Day 3: Samburu – Ol Pejeta - http://www.olpejetaconservancy.org/ After breakfast, depart for Sweetwaters Tented Camp - a luxury tented camp set in a 22,000 acre Rhino Sanctuary on Ol Pejeta Ranch.. It enjoys magnificent views across the plains to the snow-capped peaks of Mt Kenya and has an abundance of wildlife. After lunch, enjoy an afternoon game drive. Ol Pejeta conservancy also hosts the only Chimpanzee Sanctuary of its kind in Kenya. This Sanctuary comprised of riverine forest and savannah grasslands and is the home to 26 orphaned, mistreated chimpanzees. Day 04: Ol Pejeta - Lake Nakuru. After breakfast depart for Lake Nakuru national park via Thompson falls in Nyahururu. Lunch enroute and then afternoon game viewing drives at lake Nakuru national park. http://www.kws.go.ke/lake-nakuru-national-park Lake Nakuru is a shallow alkaline lake in the Rift Valley, renowned for its spectacular flamingo population as one of the world's greatest ornithological spectacles. Although Lake Nakuru is primarily a bird sanctuary, there are a considerable number of animals to be encountered, such as many large game animals such as zebras, elephants and gazelles; this is one of our best chances of seeing rhinos. Lake Nakuru National Park was the first place in Kenya selected as a rhino sanctuary. Here is one of the few places where we can see Rothschild's Giraffes. Accommodation at Chester hotel. Day 5: Lake Nakuru - Nairobi. After breakfast, morning game drive viewing, watching and photographing birds at Nakuru national park. Leave for Nairobi with lunch enroute and a stop for panoramic views of the Great rift valley view point. Lake Nakuru park is one of the few places where we can see Rothschild's giraffes Arrive Nairobi late in the afternoon after driving through lush Kikuyu farmlands. You will be dropped at your hotel in the city.
