Mount Kenya Climb: 7 Days In Sirimon - Out Naro Moru (December - March)

Climbing from base of Normal Route direct to top of Nelion and then crossing the gate of mist to Batian and back to Nelion and descend the same way. to the summit is a challenging technical climb.

Mount Kenya in Mount Kenya National park has unique position on the equator offers climbing seasons and route conditions varying with the sun's Position.
A climber doing one of the best ice routes are on the southern side of the mountain and should climb when the sun is in the North between the months of July and September.
However during the same period the east and north sides are the best condition in rock climbing. Conversely when the sun is in the south, south side offers the best rock routes and the North the better ice climbing condition.
December-March: Mt Kenya Technical climb Normal Routes, Standard IV: South West Ridge, Standard v (Rock routes). 

Itinerary
Day 01: Depart Nairobi in the morning for transfer to Nanyuki - the base of Mt Kenya.  On arrival at Nanyuki have your lunch and rest for about two hours, then in the evening take an optional guided short walk to the equitor and back to the hotel. Dinner and overnight at Simbas lodge in Nanyuki.

Day 02: After breakfast transfer from the hotel to the Sirimon Gate where you start your trek, You ascend for three hours to Old Moses Camp (3350) for overnight.

Day 03: After breakfast, walk via Mackinders Valley to Shiptons
Camp (4200). Dinner and overnight at the camp.

Day 04: Shiptons Camp to Austrian Camp 4780 for dinner and overnight.

Day 05: Cross Lewis glacier to the base of t of Nelion & Batian peaks for ascend of Nelion and Batian Peaks then back to Mackinders for overnight.

Day 06: From Mackinders to Met Station for overnight

Day 07: Descend from Met Station to Naro Moru Park Gate and for your next destination.
