Day 01: Nairobi – Lake Bogoria: This is a shallow lake found in the Rift Valley, covering an area of 30 square kilometer, with a depth of 9 meters and home to thousands of greater and lesser flamingoes. Other attractions are the HOT SPRINGS and GEYSERS (with the Hot Springs boiling hot), gazelles, greater kudu, and impala. As you plan your bird watching safari in Kenya, you can look forward to recording your sightings of crombec warblers, swifts, gobar goshawks, cape wigeons, starlings, hornbills, ostriches and many other raptor, terrestrial and wading species. The reserve is also recognized as supporting one of the largest populations of lesser flamingos on our planet! The reserve covers 114 square kilometers (44 square miles), with the lake occupying 34 square kilometers (13 square miles). After breakfast proceed for full day game viewing at lake Nakuru national park with picnic lunch provided. Lake Nakuru is a shallow alkaline lake in the Rift Valley, renowned for its spectacular flamingo population as one of the world's greatest ornithological spectacles. Although Lake Nakuru is primarily a bird sanctuary, there are a considerable number of animals to be encountered, such as many large game animals such as zebras, elephants and gazelles; this is one of our best chances of seeing rhinos. Lake Nakuru National Park was the first place in Kenya selected as a rhino reserve. Here is one of the few places where we can see Rothschild's Giraffes. Accommodation at the Chester hotel. Day 03: Crescent Island Game Park. http://www.crescentisland.co/ After breakfast drive to Lake Naivasha. After lunch take a boat ride to the Crsecent Island Sanctuary for a guided walking tour. The Island host abundant bird life including pelicans, cormorants and fish-eagles with their haunting cry. There are more animals per acre than any other Kenyan Park, hence many film companies have been to the Crescent Island to film the herds of Wildebeest, Waterbuck, Zebra and Gazelle. Day 04: Hells Gate/ Nairobi. http://kws.go.ke/content/hells-gate-national-park
Early breakfast then drive a short distance on to Hell's Gate national park for a walking tour. Located in Naivasha area, this is one of the lowland parks in the country which you can walk through. The looming cliffs and the Hell's Gate gorge itself are spectacular and home to a variety of birds and animals such as zebra, baboons, Thomson gazelle, antelope, cheeter, and leopards. Another main attraction is the Fischer's Tower 25-m high calcium of volcanic rock.
The Olkaria Geothermal power station, which uses one of the hottest sources of energy in the world, is also a spectacular site, with plumes of steam rising into the air. Drive to Nairobi later in the afternoon where you arrive at around 16:00pm. On arrival you will be dropped back at your city hotel. Meal plan: {B, L}
